I'm just going to copy-paste something i posted on another forum, because i'm sick of re-typing...

Everything was fine and dandy with my iPhone 3g, the sun was shining, puppies would skip over to me and try and hump my leg, etc...
but after a sync 2 days ago, my iPhone wants to sort my artists, and only my artists, in this fashion

please help! its actually not useful at all... i can sort of understand why it does it, but please, why would you do that?

I've, since then, restored to factory settings, and the problem disappeared - but now, after another sync, its back again - and its far more annoying now.
The prob started on 2.0.1, but exists on 2.0.2
Also, my iPhone downloaded apps won't sync to iTunes, and the "Transfer purchase" option does nothing, and neither does the reset warning button. but that's another story i guess, and I'd much rather fix the first problem... the dreaded artist sort
