My wife is a high school English teacher and has a lot of Word documents with annotated texts. She uses what I think is called the "comment box" feature in Word, which allows you to type in red note boxes that appear in the margins and point to an underlined bit of text in the main document.

Anyway, she has a lot of this stuff already created. Now she wants to open them up on our new Macbook Pro. Does anyone know if iWork Pages allows this function when it opens .doc files? I haven't decided whether to go the Office for Mac or iWork route. If iWork doesn't allow it, that's a deal breaker. We tried NeoOffice, and it doesn't recognize the comment boxes.

Thanks.

If she's a school teacher, she probably can get an Edu version of MS Office for Mac for a reduced price.

That would probably preserve the feature (I'm guessing)

Yes, comments come across to iWork '08 just fine.
