Hi, probably a dumb question, but here goes: I'll plug my iPod Touch into some speakers at work and listen to music in the background and use the "shuffle" feature.

When done, I'll hit the "Pause" or stop button and exit out of the music app.

Later, after awhile, I'll turn the iPod on, and to my surprise, the music shuffle is now in the "Playing" mode and my battery is nearly toast since it's apparently been playing whether or not I've been listening. How do I really STOP the music player from playing even while the thing looks like it's off??

Thanks.

Well I don't know if this is the exact solution your looking for; but to me the simple solution would be to just hold down the hold button and turn it completely off.

Or another solution could be to unplug the audio cord, if that is what your using, from the headphone jack, which would pause the music automatically.
