Help with ichat

So I've been trying to figure out ichat. I have AIM and used that to make my ichat account, but when I try to connect it rapidly connects and then disconnects, over and over again, until it says I've logged on too much. What is going on? I can still use normal AIM, but ichat seems to hate me.
Any Ideas?
