Problem with the disc drive on my G4

I was updating my itunes catalogue, and inserted an old 3" CD with a plastic adaptor. I've used these before without any problems, but this time the drive started making a weird noise, so I pressed the eject button and as the plastic rim of the adaptor came out, I grabbed it and pulled it out.

Now, the drive does not accept any physical disc I have tried to insert into the drive.

Anything I can do?

Sounds like it died. >_>" Time to buy a replacement.

The drive you silly. ^-^" New mac too sure, why not?

Replacing that drive is a lot less expensive obviously. And really if you have patience, check out Ifixit.com for illustrated guides on how to do it yourself.
