hey there,

is there any benefit to installing cs3 m.c. on my external hard drive as opposed to just installing it directly onto my mac?

thanks

No benefit - actually, quite the opposite. Since an external hard drive would likely have to go through the firewire or USB bus, your transfer rates would be diminished.

thanks. that's what i thought. just curious as someone mentioned a while ago in passing they thought it always better to install all onto external so that in the case you switch computers, you can just unplug, plug and work.

Well, your license is tied to a particular machine, so doing that would be illegal.
