hey!
i have set up two shared folders on a windows xp machine and am accessing them on os x leopard (via SMB).
both computers are communicating via a wifi router (wireless G).
i can mount the shares on leopard, but the speed is just PAINSTAKINGLY slow. it took me around 3 minutes just to transfer 17 MB of data. what is wrong?
also, sometimes after dropping something on the network drive, it starts sending (progress bar and all), but after it's done, i don't see the file on the destination. (not even on the target machine's hard drive itself)
it can't be the connection quality itself, since both machines load pages off the internet perfectly fast. just that network-internal communication really sucks at the moment.
any ideas on how this could be improved?
thanks a lot!!
