Launching .url in Firefox on Leopard

I have a stack of internet shortcuts set up in the forms of .url but it seems that they will only open in Safari and my main browser is Firefox. I have tried setting the default application to Firefox but every time I try Firefox just opens up and shakes and nothing happens. Any body have any ideas on how I can get the .url to open up correctly in Firefox?

If you "Get Info" on the .url file and choose "Open With" and the Firefox. Then click the "Change All" button, that should work.
