Home!!!!

Whoooooo, we're home (from Iraq). I'm using someone's crappy DSL and man, the internet is crazy fast as compared to anything that I've experienced in the last 8 months. Also, I'm glad to see that the real world is still here and that the gas priced have come down a bit.

America is awesome.

Welcome back, it's a relief. I was in Gulf War 1 and still remember how nice it was to get back to SOME form of normality. I think louishen means 'what is the second thing you did'? ;o)

Welcome back!! A fellow co-worker's son also just came back - landed first in Maine before heading to his base in Hawaii.

Thanks a lot everyone. It's absolutely great to be back. Unfortunately, several of my "what to do when you get home" activities are on hold right now. I'm a reservist, so that means that I am stuck at 29 Palms (California) for about a week doing demobilization things (paperwork, classes on not beating wives/girlfriends/children, ect) before I actually "get home". At least it's USA

Notable (to me) things that I have done:

1) Seen grass.
2) Smelled the air (when we landed in Maine, southern California wasn't as great).
3) Saw people in regular clothes (women and children!).
4) Drank a beer.
5) Turned in my rifle.

Things left to do:
1) See my girlfriend.
1.5) See my mom.
2) See my civilian friends.
3) Get rained on.
4) Say goodbye to the Marine Corps for 3 months.
5) Start the fall semester.
6) Drive my own car.
