ok i am attending college for graphic design. and i was thinking about a MBP i mean who doesn't want one. but they are so expensive. so my questions are

1) if i am just using adobe CS3 suite would a macbook be sufficient?

2) does the graphics card in the MBP only enhance the motion ability of the notebook (i wont play games on it that is that a game console is for.)

any other information anyone can give would be appreciated..

also i don't need a new comp. mac is just something i have been looking into over the past year.

I have friends that use Macbooks for print, and webdesign and they haven't been complaining about anything so far.

you should be alright with just a macbook, a lot of people in my class had them. Make sure when you get it to put as much ram as possible in it, but dont buy the ram from apple get it from newegg or crucial.

Should run fine, just get alot of RAM as previously stated if you want it to run great.

Heavy 3D gaming, no. 3D Animation not that good either. Anything else will be fine.

Even Gaming is not that bad unless it's a very demanding game. Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas play very well on my Mac Mini in XP. Doom 3 though I had to lower the settings to make it playable. Those are just an example.

Adobe CS3 will be fine. Just demanding 3D applications and games.
