hard drive speed will help with this also how much stuff u got loading at start up and how much you have in documents and desktop also slow this down

boot time dont really matter as it uses so little power with the lid down just open and close as needed

Go into System preferences>Accounts>My Account and make sure there are no items selected under startup that are slowing down your boot time.

When I first bought my MBP, I was so impressed by the boot up time. It was somewhere under 30 seconds. Now-a-days (hah, only 3 months later), it's a little slower, probably closer to 45 seconds to a full minute, and I haven't added any new login items. Weird, but it's still a great time to be fully loaded and ready to go! :)

If it makes u feel any better...Mac OSX boots at around 17-20 seconds on a SSD and Windows boost up in like 8 seconds. >_>"" This is fresh install though.

Mac isn't exactly the fastest booting OS so that doesn't surprise me that it gets sluggish after a few months.

Out of curiosity, which Windows? :) I'm considering setting up a Windows Boot Camp partition for gaming, but wondering which Windows to load.

Windows XP. I wouldn't run vista if you paid me money. >_>"
