Hey.
i really love my iweb site i've made, and i don't want to spend the time fixing up another one. but now that i finished it and tried all my links, i have come to a BIG obstacle.

my links aren't opening in new windows. they are opening right over top of my site so you have to click back to get back to my site. i don't want this to happen, i don't want to lose people. ***!

i tried all these replies from different people and put these new codes into the url section of the Link category in the iWEB inspector but it still didn't change anything.

To open a link in a new window, your link code should look like this:

<a href="http://www.yoursite.com" target="_blank">Link</a>
or
target="_blank"rel="external"
or
rel="external"
or
<a href="http://www.yoursite.com" target="_blank"

i've searched lots of forums to no avail.

who is up to try this out on their iweb?
i suggest make a fake page in iweb and publish it to your desktop and see what happens.

please try it out and solve this mystery!

argh!
thanks for any help.

What is it that you want to occur? If you open a link in a new window, it's going to open up in front of your current browser window. I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish.

The W3C do not recommend opening links to new windows (they call it breaking the back button and say it confuses the end user)
