Screenshots in Leopard do not work the same way as the Print Screen function on Windows...
In Leopard, when you take a screenshot (Follow D3v1L80Y's links to find out how), it puts the image of your screen as a PNG image on your desktop... You can then do whatever you want with the file...

Shift+Command+3 - Full Screen Capture
Shift+Command+4 - Selectable Capture

and if you press spacebar after hitting cmd-shift-4, the crosshairs will change to a camera allowing you to take a picture of an individual window...
