I have a (June 2004) Power Mac G5. I've been told the logic board needs replaced, which is a $800-$900 repair at the Apple Store. Is there anywhere on the web I can find a cheap one besides ebay. If so, how do I know I'm getting the right one for my particular machine.

If you think you're capable of doing the repair yourself, try here:

www.ifixit.com The logic board is not an inexpensive item but you can save quite a bit on labor. This site also provides step by step instructions which are generally geared toward someone who is somewhat handy with doing that sort of thing.

There's also = http://www.macservice.com/

Not as expensive as having Apple do the work, but never the less a fair amount of $$$.

Regards.
