I have rapid weaver and dreamweaver and iweb... is there something else I should try?

You have already got 3 good ones there, there is also Freeway expess, not tried it but I believe they do a trail version

There is (was) GoLive but since Adobe acquired Macromedia, it has not seen any development

I always liked Dreamweaver, but yeah, it seems like you got the most used ones already. I'm not too experienced in web design so I'm sorry I can't help you more than simply recommending Dreamweaver. Good luck!

I find dreamweaver more complicated than it needs to be.
Which is why I use Netobjects fusion.
Having said that, I'm not sure whether they do a mac os version because I do it all on a pc.

It's a very easy program to use if you want ok, user friendly sites that work.
If you want fancy stuff then maybe you need the extra complications that dreamweaver brings.

I've been tinkering with iweb, and Im not too sure I like it.... Unless i'm doing something wrong, It wont let me edit the html code...... ? I am a iweb newbie, so perhaps Im overlooking it? I do like the slideshow feature for photos.

Most of web masters use dreamviewer to work with web sites

I've just started using Komodo Edit, and it's pretty good. I think the code editors are the way to go if you really want to learn how to produce good HTML code. From what I've seen Dreamweaver adds alot of extra code that isn't needed. That's just way opinion.
