Accidentally removed mail account!

Well, I've stupidly removed a mail account and have lost my mails since my last back-up, which, again stupidly, was a year ago. My ISP only stores mails for 180 days. Does anyone know how I can recover my missing mails? They don't seem to be in the trash. I should add that I'm using 10.4. Help!
