after spending three days installing windows xp via bootcamp
and finally succeeded, i thought it's helpful sharing my eXPerience
with those unfamiliar who may run or already ran into similar problems.

in order to install Windows XP alongside with MacOS, you must:
-have an intel-based apple computer (as we know)
-have leopard 10.5 that includes bootcamp (i did it with leopard)
-genuine windows XP SP2 (complete XP SP2 version, NOT XP or XP1
with a SP2 upgrade disc; NOT dell, hp, sony, or whatsoever's recovery XP disc)

**it's based on my case. my leopard was newly installed(10.5.1), no upgrades.
i went straight to BootCamp(2.0) and got started.

LAPTOP: all USB device should be removed or your keyboard may not respond during installation.
DESKTOP: well, when i was researching, i saw a method of getting a cheap PC keyboard.

in bootcamp, select the first option that leads to hard drive space partitioning.
make space for XP no more than 32GB just to be safe, and then
follow instruction on BC. insert windows XP SP2 cd when told and
press "ok/continue". your computer should reboot automatically, and
you'll see XP's blue screen of installation.

press "enter" and then "f8" to agree on the blah, and you'll see installation directory.
PICK the partition marked "C:" and (probably) named "BootCamp".*
DO NOT RESIZE PARTITION C or DELETE the tiny partition that's 200MB.**
*if you don't use a XP SP2 installation disc, you'll NOT see partition C that BC made.
**that 200MB space contains info/data required specifically for XP installation on a mac.
(i firstly used XP early version and i couldn't see C drive; i also deleted that
200MB partiton not knowing its purpose, so i failed many times)

after you pick C and continue, choose FAT or NTFS formatting(fast).
then it starts formatting and copying files. things should be fine thereafter.
btw, if you see white texts "press any key to boot from CD" over black
during rebooting, ignore that. if you press any key, you'll start over.

after you get to XP desktop(congrats), insert your leopard disc to take care
of hardware drivers for XP.

if i said anything that just ain't sound right, please point out so i can recheck.
