Can't Find Hd Icon

Do you have a custom one replacing it?
If so, just highlight it, and in the top bar go to File>Get Info, then highlight the small icon preview in the top left and hit Backspace.

Or go to Finder>Preferences and ensure show HD is selected.

Oh, I misunderstood you the first time.
Did you try System Preferences or Finder preferences? On the top bar, click Finder>Preferences, and check under the General tab. Is hard disks checked?
