I've suddenly lost all sound except the start-up chime. About a month ago, I connected small Bose speakers, which gave great sound. The only tinkering I've done recently is install a new driver for my Wacom tablet after having cursor trouble. Helllllllllllllp, please!!!

Did you lose the sound right after installing the driver for the Wacom? If so, uninstall the driver and see if that returns the sound.
Also be sure to check your volume control and System Preferences - Sound options. Make sure the sound is not muted and check the other options in the panel.
