as in subject, very poor gradients in pictures, very small viewing angle, washed-out colours (even after calibration), OSX 10.5 not optimized to work on such low resolution display (bad looking fonts, bars taking lots of space)

any ideas how to fix above issues? can apple do something with it?

I bought it from Dixons on the airport on the way on holiday, left box abroad how to get my money back?

any help much appreciated.

While it's true that the MacBooks have lower quality displays than the MacBook Pros (which is what your signature indicates you have), it really shouldn't be as bad as you describe. Are you sure it's running in the native screen resolution?
