OK so first off, I'm a new mac user. Earlier today I somehow found the usr file (even though I later found out it's supposed to be invisible) and I thought it was junk, so I deleted it. After reading that you're definitely not supposed to delete it and freaked out for a little bit, I reinstalled the OS X and all is well. But my usr folder was still in my trash can, so I dragged it out. Now it's on my desktop and it won't let me put it in the home folder, saying I can't replace it because it's invisible. I don't want to have to look at it all the time and fear it, in case I somehow delete it again. How can I get it back where it's supposed to be? Thanks in advance..

Delete the one on your desktop.

The reload put a new one where it belongs.

If you use the GO > Go to Folder option in Finder then enter /usr in the field and hit enter. It will show you the contents of the new usr folder.
