So I wanted everyone or anyones opinion on Graphic Art Design as a career for things like computer application for marketing, advertising, or simply freelance in a variety of other areas regarding Graphic design. :Smirk:

My question is... is there a strong market out there for this kind of work.

Please post I am trying to decide to pursue this area of art for myself in school.

here are a couple of my personal works. i am very much an amateur!

That's good work, more like illustration than design but very good none the less.

You dont say how old you are, are you planning on going to college?

I would keep at it, the pays not good at first but once you get experience it is a very rewarding career with a different set of challenges every day

and its never a job where you can learn the guides and rules and then just rest on what you already know

Yeah, those are more like illustration/art pieces.
They are well done, but not very practical for any design as they are now.

Graphic Design is so much more than just making nice-looking images.
If you are serious about learning Graphic Design, then I would suggest putting focus on things like Typography, Grid Structure, Color Theory and possibly Marketing.

Most people go to school for it.
