Hey folks needs some help here

my girlfriend has an emac, and she came across a stick of 512mb sdram for it...we plug it in and we get a single beep tone stating that the memory is unreconized.
she got a stick of infineon ram, the stick on it reads

HYS72g65300tr-7.5-D 64Mx72 SDRAM
D38411106 PC133R-333-542-B2
Assembled in Italy
512mb , sync , 133 mhz, cl3, ecc, reg

i stick this ram into my PC computer cause i have a powerbook myself and it works just fine...not that i dont mind an extra 512 in my pc but she really needs it when she only has 256mb... can anyone lend a hand....and info ... is this sd ram not compatiable ????

The maximum ram speed for the 700mhz emac is 125mhz. I am not sure it would accept the faster ram or if there is some other problem.

The full specs of the ram used by the eMac is

PC133 3.3 volt, unbuffered, 8-byte, non-parity,168-pin SDRAM

Try swapping the position of the RAM sticks, this has worked for me in the past and most recently frmo when I upgraded from 384Mb to 512Mb.

Actually, the speed must be 125 MHz or greater according to Apple.

well your wrong about the speed...cause what it shipped with was 128mb 133mhz ram, and i added an additional 128mb 133 and everything works fine..so the 512 stick i have should in theory work...i think it might have to many chips on it for the mac to understand.

as far as the slots i have tried changing that..i noticed that was well when i added the other 128mb, but it gave a 2 beep error code sometimes...but when i stick in the 512mb card in both slots by its self i get a single beep code.
