Power problems with my iMac...

It takes ages to start up, pressing the power button multiple times. Then when it does eventually start up, it will randomly shut down at any point in time when I'm using either OSX or bootcamp (XP).

I don't know the internal architecture but at a guess could it be the DC in board ? I've come across this 3 times out of the last 5 projects I've worked on.
