I hope someone can help. I'm getting desperate!!

I have a 60 gig iPod, and have about 8000 or so songs on it. It was working fine until this weekend, after I updated my iTunes to version 7.7. Since then, when I plug my iPod in, the spinning rainbow wheel pops up in iTunes and won't recognize my iPod or let me do anything.

I have restarted my iPod, I've tried putting it in disk mode (this doesn't seem to work on my iPod), I've repaired disk permissions in disk utlities, I've reinstalled iTunes. I don't know what else to do!!!

Can anyone help me???

Does the iPod work otherwise?

Yes, but just off the iPod. Once restored, just re-sync the music with your iTunes Library.
