Hi there,

I just purchased a new iMac, and I also have an old Powerbook.
I would like to get OSX Leopard (especially iPhoto) onto my Powerbook. Can I stick the iMac OS X Install Disc 1 into the drive and run the instillation as normal? Or will it only work on the iMac hardware.

If this is not possible – is there another way to get around it?

Thanks in advance.

I'm really sure iMac disks are just for iMacs. You're going to need a new retail version.

First it would be against the law to use the same copy of OSX on more than one machine. Also it will not work. A Powerbook is a Power PC CPU and a newer iMac is Intel. Totally different and will not run an Intel version of OSX. Also like Skaheadpunk said, the Install DVD's that come with the iMac are made for that model Mac and will not work on any other Model.
