Python Fatal Error

When I try to play Civilization IV, it starts the loading window, stops at where it says "Initializing Python" and then abruptly states that "Python Failed To Initialize"...

What perhaps is incorrect here and how do I go about fixing it. The game states the same for my MacBook. Both my computers meet its requirments. Both are running 10.5.4 as well.
