Cause they probably thought you were trolling since you'd been on for a day or more and hadn't said anything.
Ask Schweb to lift your IP ban.
Well when I was in there, no one was around, I checked in a few times and didn't see anyone posting. No trolling, just hanging out til someone showed up.
Appreciate if Schweb would unban me, or should I PM him?

He might read this, or if you want back sooner just PM him. But we really want members to use their M-F usernames, cause we usually kick/ban people who we can't identify in our IRC room.

Good observations. I remember we kept asking who you were in IRC and we never got any response from you, so I think the banning was appropriate.

I just got a Mac a week a ago, stumbled on the site and have been reading in here, but not posting.
The name Itchy was already in use, Scratchy is my alternate. When I was in there, no one was around and I note someone asked me who I was twice, and it just so happened I was not at the computer at that time and then I am banned. I don't post much in IRC, I use mostly to read, if I have something to say, I will post.
Since I was not causing any problems, let alone saying anything, I really don't understand the purpose of banning, maybe a kick asking to identify, but not a ban.
So your choice in banning me I do not think was appropriate, if I was in there causing trouble, I would understand.
