IMAP vs. POP

Total tech noob here...can someone explain the difference/benefits of each?

IMO i think IMAP is better as it allows multiple devices to sync with the server. This way, whatever changes you make, emails that get sent, deleted and what not are done on the server side rather then on the client side.

Things that can happen if you use POP is that you may delete an email on one device but that doesn't get noticed on another device because the email being deleted only occurs on the client side.
