That is a weird one, never heard of that before. Someone who can actually say something useful should be along shortly :)

Have you downloaded anything recently? Anything you weren't actively seeking or not sure of what it was? Any website ask you to download and install something?

How do you connect to the internet? Is this a wireless connection? Do you have any way of connecting without using a wireless network?

I wonder if you picked up a nasty attachment from viewing a website?

I have seen this on a windows machine, usually from a bad download, or a false link.

I'm sorry I'm not really an expert, but I will try to explain what happened with me, as I had a similar problem a while back.

I've read across some other forums (sorry can't remember exactly which one), that it may have something to do with the advanced airport settings. In my case the "jumbled up" page pops out whenever firefox or safari can't connect to a page. Further forum-jumping and google-searching suggested that the ISP listed in the "search domain" section of the DNS was the culprit. So it was suggested that I not use DHCP but manually configure the DNS servers.

Well, I left this job to my computer-savvy friends but anyway they were able to remove my ISP (www.meridiantelekoms.com) from DNS>Search Domains and tinker around with my router so now everything is fine. I hope this helps and again I apologize for my lack of technical knowledge regarding this, but I'm quite sure other mac-forums.com members can help you with that.

Cheers!
