I just switched from a Vista PC to MacBook Pro and am in the learning curve. I have a Pocket PC using Windows Mobile 5 that I want to continue to use. Will Mac recognize and sync with this type of device?
Thanks
Mark

use VMWare and install the vista as a virtual machine:
-installation is not difficult, the virtual machine assists the vista install
-you can install an icon on your mac desktop for your vista/ xp sync application, vmware opens the appropriate os + application.

Hi jah
I am sorry but I am not very familiar with setting up partitions etc. Does the virtual software walk you through it? Does it even use the partition concept? I have never used virtual software. Also loading Vista concerns me a bit for many reasons. the same disc space be used? Will it tax the laptop's resources? Is WMWare a generic term or specific purchased software?
Thanks

I installed VMWare with Windows 98 and it didn't create a partition, I don't think it does for a virtual machine, unless you're using it with Boot Camp.

VMWare Fusion and Parallels Desktop are two popular software titles that let you run Windows or Linux within OS X.

The trouble with this is that the systems resources are shared - it's not going to be as fast as running only Windows or OS X while you're using both.

Anyway, I'm sure there's a better way of syncing the two, hang on a tick and I'll do some research.

the virtual machine sw are: vmware-fusion or parallels or bootcamp.

fusion, will run linux too
parallels, mostly microsoft
bootcamp comes with osx, must reboot to switch, separate partition too

vmware/ parallels, easy setup, windows installs super easy too
they unpack themselves from a regular file, no sep partition needed
they share resources: ip adr, bluetooth, kb/mouse, sound card etc
just osx + xp = 2gig mem fine, osx + vista dont know... 4gig
not too bad on the hd, depends how many apps installed each os

do the research... make sure your app will in a virtual environment
