I have ordered a Macbook - didn't get the Pro but I'm told using basic functions of Final Cut should be no problem. I have a couple of questions for you kind folks..
-Is it true that I really need to get an external hard drive while working with Final Cut? I've been told that it's too much for the internal hard drive to handle.
-If this is true is it also true that USB 2.0 can't handle the media transfer to an external hard drive? Do I need to have a drive with a firewire port?
-If I need a drive with a firewire port, I really want to get one that doesn't need an external power source but can be powered through the Macbook. I've seen hard drives for firewire listed as IEEE 1394, IEEE1394a, IEEE1394b. Which one do I need to get?
Thanks very much
