MB turns on, screen goes on/off, sleep light/ no OS boot... chronic sleep?

Hey everyone,

Here's another problem for all you knowledgeable ones. Thanks in advance. The same GF who fried her MB (hence the forum name ) is having another issue with her MB.

At some point today the screen kinda went off then on again during use. It appeared to go to sleep when she was in the middle of using it so she got it back by hitting the power button. She successfully restarted it at least once and then it apparently went to sleep again! She tried to get it to wake up but it wouldnt, so she powered off by holding down the power button... and now when we turn on the computer, it flashes the startup screen twice but then immediately disappears and the sleep light comes back on...

So apparently this MacBook has narcolepsy? We don't know what to do to get it to boot to at least backup her information...

Any advice is helpful! You guys really helped me a lot last time and I hope you can again. Thanks!

Going to try swapping hard drives to see if it's not only an OS boot problem...
