I got a "new-to-me" iBook G4 today, and I find the mouse button click be very loud, snapping, and plastic-y sounding, whereas the one on my G3 was much quieter and not so sharp sounding. It makes it seem kind of cheapish and low quality.

Is there anyway to easily adjust it? Is it hard to replace it?

Sorry, I know I'm being ridiculously anal, but I thought that I'd ask.

Anyway, it seems like the whole casing that goes around the keyboard and mouse pad and perhaps the mouse button have been replaced. It all seems way to new looking (and smelling) to be original. The keyboard looks kind of new too. Just thought I'd mention that.

atomheartmother,

Look on here http://www.ifixit.com/ and see what it takes to take it apart and replace or put back together. Maybe you could repair yourself.
