os 10.5.2 on a MacBook trouble with Open Office

My wife has a macbook running the above OS, and Open Office has stopped working. It's version is 2.4.

When you launch the app, the menu bar at the top shows "Open Office", but no windows open, and an X11 icon briefly appears in the taskbar.

We've tried re-installing X11 from the install disks, to no avail.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

How about re-installing Open Office? Or try Neo Office which I don't believe requires X11...

Or try Open Office 3.0 Beta, which also does not require X11. I have not had any problems with it yet.


But I would go with NeoOffice.

I use NeoOffice at least a dozen times a week, and I have not had any problems.
