I am going to sell my iBook G4(with leopard) soon, and I have been told to de authorize it beforehand. How do you reformat an iBook so the next user can choose his/her password, computer name etc.? I don't want my old information on it when I give it to someone else.

thanks for the help!

addicted2pocky,

Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility and there select your hard drive on the left side. On the left side click Erase. On the bottom part of the screen click on security and select a method for secure erase...

Will doing this also clear my Mail application? And I have already made back up discs of my iTunes and iPhoto. How can I clear those?

I'm pretty sure it clears everything, including Mail.

addicted2pocky,

Yes, you'd have an empty hard drive.
