Messed Up Dock

I don't know how but i messed up my dock a while ago and i can't seem to find out how to fix it. My Trash and Finder icons are missing but i can still click on them. My other problem is that i can't delete anything off of the dock. When i try to remove an app from the dock it deletes just the picture, my dock crashes, restarts and then the app is still on there. You can see to the right on the Safari app where i tried to remove an app off of my dock.

I tried to delete the plist and stuff like that and it didn't work.

These are the two files you need to delete:

/users/your name/library/preferences/com.apple.dock.db

/users/your name/library/preferences/com.apple.dock.plist

That worked thank you. But my icons are still missing. Is there anyway i can get them back?
