another ram question

i have 5 gigs in my tower...should i add more?...i'm running nikon view it is very slow to get the image to 100%...

or what other ways to improve performance?

There's an easy way to check. When you have your application opened and are experiencing performance issues, open Activity Monitor (Applications => Utilities). Look at System Memory tab. If you see lots of green in the pie chart, you've got more than enough memory. If the other colors dominate the pie chart, you'll probably want to add some more.
