• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

so i've been working on a project in FCP5 on my G4 powerbook (OS X 10.4.10, 1.67 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM). my editor's machine is a macbook pro (OS X 10.5.4, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.6 GHz, 4 GB RAM). since the spec requirements for installing FCP6 make it impossible for me to upgrade my G4 powerbook, i'm wondering if anyone thinks i'll have any problems installing FCP 5 onto the macbook pro. i need to have both machines be able to share all media and project files.
feedback, ideas???

I have FCP5 on my MPB with OS X 10.5.2. With limited simple stuff I've done it works fine.

I can't speak the sharing part of your question since I'm a casual user who hasn't had to do that.
