Immediately after upgrading to the new iPod Touch 2.0 software update through iTunes, I noticed:

1) my ipod touch has become very laggy, especially scrolling and tapping someone's name in address book.

2) Also, sometimes when I sleep it, the 'click' noise it should make doesn't happen until maybe 5 seconds later sometimes.

3) Another thing is my Notes: has anyone noticed the font has changed in any of their notes? There's one particular note which has had it's font changed, but all the others are the same.

4) Typing on the keyboard has become very laggy, especially in Address Book's new search feature.

Is this just me? Or are other iPod Touch owners experiencing these problem too?

I haven't noticed this. I moved from a jailbroken 1.1.4, and if anything, my iPod Touch has improved in responsiveness.

Hm, I'll try reseting it and see if it makes a difference.

It's all good here - no problems since 2.0 update, app load speed seems a little longer, but once open operation speed seems the same. I put this down to loading it with a load of new apps to play with.

It nearly got broken in half with frustration while playing Monkey Ball - does that count? :D

When I type, the words im typing cant keep up with my speed. IT gets really annoying because I will keep typing, but then there are some words that didnt get corrected, so I'm going back and trying to change one letter. Very time consuming.

Hey guys.

I've found this thread which details the EXACT problems that I've been having.

No real solutions found yet though.

I also went into an O2 store today in UK, and tested the iPhones there. I found that the problem also existed on them too! It's weird that no-one else on this forum seems to be complaining about these issues?

Are we just really unlucky then?

p.s I hate to say this but Apple's disappointed me this time, what with the problems above, and iPhone unavailable for me, and MobileMe problems (slow, not actual push etc).

Hey guys, there is a building thread going on here (includes video of the lag) at the Apple Support Discussions - link here.

If you are having problems, please make a post to say you are so that Apple will take notice and fix the problems!

My ipod Touch freezes up after the 2.0 update. It would not shut down at all. I finally had to restore it and leave the apps off for now. Anyone have any of these issues?

I have an issue with the contact list! It takes about 11 seconds before I can scroll through the list.

I only have about 100 contacts which I would not call large!!

Very annoying!!

I wondered after the apps are installed and we open them do they linger in the back ground upon exit> If so that could probably cause lag and possibly other issues.

I dont know!

I installed the Google app which actually makes it faster to find a Contact using search function... which is actually better than scrolling through the contact list anyway.

Why Apple left that feature out is beyond me!!

Cheers

It happens to me even though I haven't installed any apps whatsoever.

I am having the problems too but it could be that Ipod is pretty old. I have had mine since the first release and I think it was number 1,xxx off the line (serial number).

To me its just a little laggy and only crashes every so often... but eh, just a little annoyance.

Have no fear Steve Jobs will come through for us. Apple will eventually fix these issues as they always do and we will be again saying....MACS ROCK!

For me the contact list/address book app takes about 30 seconds about 90% from when I start it up to the time I can actually use it. I hope this is fixed in the next patch >.<
