Problem playing WMV files

Can not play a WMV file.
Downloaded and installed Flipformac and that will not play the file.
Also downloaded and installed Perian and that has not helped either.
When i goto the site the file is on a get a drop down box sayin that flipformac can not play this file.
any help please.

There are some wmv file which do not comply with standards. They are encoded with an unsupported codec. There're more common than I like to see. I wish content providers could stick to standard wmv....Flip4Mac is the best tool for dealing with WMV, but when it comes to these weird codecs, there's not too much that can be done other than contacting the people who created the movie and asking them to re-encode it as a standard wmv.
