I'm installing Windows XP on my Macbook, and i was wondering, what's the ideal partition size i should use?

i know the default is 5GB but should i get a bigger one? I want windows to run as smoothly as possible.

Partition size depends on what you'll be running in Windows. If you're a gamer you'll probably need more than the 5 Gb default as games tend to be very large. However, if you're just going to run several Windows apps such as MS Office 2007, 5 to 8 Gb would be OK. (XP SP2 Home full install will use around 2 Gb of space for its files and system.)

I created my Boot Camp partition as 8 Gb since that was all I needed for the apps I had which could not be replaced with an OS X version. No games. I also used FAT-32 in order to be able to R/W from OS X.

Regards.

Depends on what you want to use it for. Since this is going to be on a Macbook, I'm assuming it's just for running the occasional Windows application, maybe a very light game every once in a while? If that's the case, then you won't really need much more than 10GB.
