Growl Notification of "Spam"

When using the growlmail plugin for Growl with mail.app 3.3, and an IMAPed gmail account with the spam folder pointing to the gmail spam folder, no spam of course shows up in my inbox, but growl still displays all notification for all spam as it registers it as "new mail". Any ways around this? Many thanks!!

nm. Iresolved this. You configure growlmail preferences within mail.app AND in growl. The former resolves the spam issue.
