If so how is it? Do the people that work in the "Genuis Bar" need any type of certification or do they just get training provided by Apple Techs?

I wonder if its a worth while part-time job?

Most of the stores are not looking for part time jobs. I applied for fulltime during the summer but even that they said they have plenty of people on a waiting list. They said all the stores have plenty of people who apply for part time but need fulltime year round employers

the store at the mall near me is looking for part-time "sales" but I was curious about the Genius Bar. They didn't tell me they had any sort of waiting list they just said, "You want to apply? Here, we're looking for people to start in FEB" so... They told me there is another part time Apple Consultant Job that I may be interested in which is working from home or something. I didn't really understand the position. I work full time right now for a insurance company so unless the salary is real good I wouldn't quit to do full time for Apple.

I work at a mac store in Florida, Certification isnt required for a Noob who sells the systems just a few hours a month in on site training on the product, now if you want to fix these things, then you need certification from apple. Good luck getting that you need to be a freaking rocket sientists teeacher to get that. I have 7 certs in winblows mcse, msse NCSE etc.. t means JACk in a mack repair shop " one of worth anyway" part time , stick with sales. :tusks:

I actually got a call back for a Part-Time Mac Specialist position (sales) and I talked to the store manager on the phone and he told me there will be Mac Genius part timers opening by Feb maybe, depends on some kid who might be leaving and another guy getting transfered. Yeah no cert. needed as the real repairs get sent out to the certified mac techs. But he said if you know a lot about OS X and installing Airport/RAM that would be a huge plus. Uh.... haha.

anyway I might continue and go on an interview for the Mac Specialist PT but the pay....its not the best (min wage) but depending on experience you might get a tiny bit more. He did ask me, "why do you want a part time job, you already work for a huge company?" i thought that was weird...
