UPDATE question... how long should it take...

how long should it take to for my mac pro to "configure instillation" after my first massive software update?

i restarted and WOW

it says "installing 9 items"

but the blue line doesn't seem to be moving at all.

should i force a shutdown and restart?

Depends on the update and the speed of your internet connection. The last Leopard update (10.5.4) took quite a while to download and install. Some updates go much quicker.

Let it finish, don't force a shutdown and restart. If the update is corrupted and can't finish or install for some reason, you'll receive an error. Make sure you have nothing else running in the background when you do updates.
