Hi everyone,
I am having some big problems and wondering if you can offer any advice. Last week my 4+ year old 80gig hard drive failed on my Powerbook G4. We ordered a Seagate, 160gig hard drive to replace it. My husband installed it for me, and then I spent a day setting it up with the software and files. Now, just two days later, it started to run funky, so I thought I'd run disk utility to ensure optimum performance, and low and behold, it tells me the NEW HARD DRIVE IS FAILING! I keep my laptop on a podium pad, it does not get very hot, and I shut it down at night. Is it really possible to have a brand new hard drive fail in 48 hours??? Might there be something "causing" my hard drive to fail?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
