Just wondering if this is possible and if anyone is doing this. I still can't get my HDs to show up like they're supposed to through Airport Extreme, but I can at least connect to them when Airport Extreme shows up under "shared" in Finder.

I basically want a setup where all of my USB devices are connecting through the Airport, but I'm not having as much luck as I had hoped. I'm afraid that if I ask an Apple tech they'll just say no since the last one (that was supposed to be an Airport Extreme specialist) didn't even know USB hubs can be connected to it. :/

Yes, you can add a hub to it and plug your drives (and supported printers) into it. Both the iPhone and iPod Touch run 802.11b/g radios so, as long as you have your Airport Extreme (AE) set up correctly, they should be able to connect to it without any difficulties. Make sure the AE set for "802.11n (802.11b/g compatible)" under the Wireless tab and you should be able to use the iPhone and Touch on the network.

oops, I guess I didn't explain quite right. I mean connecting through Airport to my computer so I can do updates, sync, and load music.

But according to yet another Apple tech I spoke with, this isn't possible. I'm not sure if I should believe him since the last one I spoke to didn't have a clue and made a bunch of lame excuses, but in this case Apple doesn't specifically say it's possible, so it probably isn't. I'm actually a little surprised Apple didn't make it possible to do so. It's still connecting with the iPhone dock, but after that the transmission of data is wireless.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. He's right, though. You can't connect the iPhone / iPod Touch through the APX to sync music. It has to be directly connected to the computer.

Well, I knew it was a shot in the dark, but worth asking. I guess I can't be completely free of USB connections, but at least I don't have to connect my iPhone/Shuffle/Camera as much as my other USB devices.
