Photobooth not working correctly

So when I go onto photobooth and try to do the penguin feature, this is what happens to my forehead:

I'm not in front of any shadows or anything and it does this with every effect that changes the background... any ideas why this is happening and how I could fix it?

I would start with changing up the lighting...
