Hi, i'm currently using a SpeedLink router to split my 1MB broadband connection between both my Powerbooks, my windoze laptop and my wife's dell pc downstairs. I'm wanting to make the Powerbooks and laptop wireless for when i move house next year. Would a Airport Express Base Station work ok with the router? I have airport cards in both powerbooks already plus i'll be buying a pc card for the laptop.

Thanks

Yep should work no problem.

I recommend hooking up your modem to the Uplink in the Airpot and then plug the router into the LAN port so that you don't have any IP issues

like trpn said, that will work fine. But really it sounds like all your machines will be wireless soon anyway so you won't even need your extra router.

Sorry for posting this in the wrong forum. I forgot to mention that the router is a modem/router combo, what i was wondering whether it's okay to have a connection off the router going straight into the airport base. I've got one ordered so i'll let you lot know if it's successful.

Not a problem

And yes, it shouldn't be an issue. Worst case scenario if it's not working is to turn off IP address sharing on your airport and just let the modem/router do it.
