If there is anyone out there who finds themselves with an Hp 4550 color laser and a G5 Mac you know the problem. The Mac doesn't have a parallel port but the printer does...even smaller than the normal, so a regular usb to parallel converter won't work...

The Printer Works in Hayward, Ca has in stock some J4135a-nob jetdirect connectivity cards. Simply install the card into the EIO slot on the back of the printer and you now have not only a Parallel port, but a USB port, a RS-232 serial port and a Local Talk Port. The install takes about 5 seconds...Simply plug a usb cable into the Usb port and into the Mac, up pops the Hp 4550 and it's ready to use. Works great... You will need a usb cable with the printer plug on one end and a flat usb plug on the other. Walmart has em for about $17.00 for a ten footer. The card itself costs $69.00.

Or call 800-225-6116 and talk to what sounds like a real fox...Ok, I admit it, I'm a dirty ol man...
